All Budget Day of Action participants (with the exception of SEIU members, who will be checking in at another location) should check in at Temple-Harrisburg starting at 10:00 AM (directions below) before going to the Capitol so that you can get the events schedule, your packet of materials, and a lunch ticket, and pick up or make a sign to take to the rallies.
11:00 am — Disabilities Funding Rally, convened by the Arc of PA, begins in the Main Rotunda of the State Capitol.
12:00 noon — PA’s Choice Rally for a Budget that Puts People First begins in the Main Rotunda of the State Capitol.
1:00-2:30 pm — Lunch and Legislative Office Visits
Return to Temple-Harrisburg (Strawberry Square) to pick up a boxed lunch and visit legislators’ offices to talk with staff about the state budget & leave info for legislators.
2:30 pm — March for Fair Funding of the Budget, convened by SEIU, begins at the corner of Commonwealth Ave & Walnut St (half a block from the check-in/lunch site at Temple-Harrisburg.) The march will proceed through downtown Harrisburg, stopping at key locations to rally for investment in PA communities, shale tax, corporations paying their fair share, & raising the minimum wage!
DIRECTIONS TO TEMPLE UNIVERSITY – HARRISBURG CHECK IN LOCATION:
Check-in begins at Temple University Harrisburg Campus, 234 Strawberry Square, directly across the street from the south side of the Capitol complex. Enter Strawberry Square at the street level entrance on the corner of 4th & Walnut Streets (Bagel Lovers entrance), and go through the Temple security checkpoint on the 1st floor. Signs will direct you to our 2nd floor conference room.
